A good night’s rest is something that all aspire, especially now as the world is back to some semblance of normalcy and we have soo much to get done. We have to get the kids ready for school, we are in the office for hours on end, back to back meetings, and balancing gym and the social lives we had to do without for so long.
If you’re not sleeping well, it affects the day ahead and these 3 things may be preventing your beauty rest.
1 - You have no sleep routine. In the same way you train your bodies to attack the day ahead - whether through a jolt or caffeine, exercise and a hearty breakfast, it’s the same way you need to prepare it to unwind.
Unplugging for 2 hours, meditating, journaling, and sitting in quiet will help to train your bodies that it’s time to shut down.
2 - You’re having caffeine after 4pm. Avoid Black Teas, Green Teas, Puerh or Green Teas and instead indulge in your favourite Herbal or Rooibos Blends. We recommend Moonshine Darling which includes Valerian Root, a mild sedative and Passion Flowers and Lavender which are good for relaxing your muscles and anxiety. We’re also releasing a limited run of Good Night’s Rest, a blend of chamomile, lavender and spearmint which will help you unwind.
3- You’re glued to your white screens. You’re watching TV or scrolling on your cell phone in bed when you should be resting your eyes. Your timeline can wait and the white light will not allow your brain to switch off.
A great night’s rest enables peak performance by repairing your bodies and recharging you for the day ahead, so it is probably the most important thing you can do for you. Happy Resting!
